The Invoice Makers started with a simple frustration: sending a one-off invoice should not require creating an account, confirming an email, choosing a plan and then discovering the free tier adds a watermark. So we built a set of tools that just work, in the browser, for free.
What we offer
- An invoice generator with 30 designs and logo upload, plus a quote generator and receipt maker that produce clean PDFs
- 50 industry invoice templates – from construction and plumbing to photography, consulting, trucking and therapy – each pre-filled with typical line items and payment terms
- Calculators for hourly rates, billable hours, late fees, profit margin, sales tax, self-employment tax and payment due dates
- Plain-English guides on each page explaining the formulas and the business practice behind them, plus longer invoicing guides on topics such as payment terms and invoice numbering
Who we build for
Our users are freelancers, consultants, tradespeople, creative professionals, tutors, landlords and small business owners – people who need to send a proper invoice today and get paid, without learning accounting software. Every tool is designed to be finished in a few minutes on a laptop or a phone.
How the tools work
Everything runs in your web browser. When you fill in an invoice, the details are stored only on your own device so you can return to them; nothing is uploaded to us. The PDF is created by your browser's built-in print-to-PDF feature, which means it works offline once the page has loaded and looks the same on every device.
How we write our content
The sample line items, rates and tips in our templates are based on common billing practice in each industry and are reviewed for clarity and accuracy. Where rules differ by country or state – for example sales tax, late fees or licensing – we say so and recommend checking local requirements rather than presenting one rule as universal.
How we make money
The site is supported by advertising. We do not sell your data, and the tools do not send what you type to our servers – everything stays in your browser.
Accuracy
We check every formula and keep tax figures such as the Social Security wage base up to date, but the calculators are for planning and estimation only. They are not legal, tax or accounting advice. For decisions with real money or legal consequences, confirm with a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
